What is a coffee omakase?

Omakase, in Japanese, means “I’ll leave it up to you,” and is commonly associated with a prix fixe menu for sushi. Omakases allow you to try the best of the best, at the chef’s recommendation.

With coffee omakases, we want you to experience the same thoughtful curation, serving unique coffee beverages that highlight the distinct flavors of Kona coffee.

Why a coffee omakase?

A coffee omakase is the antithesis to the conventional coffee tasting experience.

Coffee tasting events are most commonly done through cuppings, where a standard brewing method is used to streamline the process of tasting and comparing different coffees.

We wanted to break out of that conventional format and redefine the concept of coffee tasting by providing a more curated and experimental tasting experience that demonstrates the range of coffee as an ingredient, and maximizing the variety of ways to enjoy it.

What should I expect?

Of course, what one should always expect when they attend a coffee omakase — just kidding! From the format of the event to the expertly brewed coffees, nothing about our coffee omakase is standard procedure.

You should expect a unique experience where you will have one-on-one time with a barista that can answer questions related to coffee, the courses, the business, and more. Perhaps most unique of all is the coffees that you will be served, with regard to both the beans that we’ve specially sourced for the menu and how they are prepared as a beverage. Our expert baristas will be happy to facilitate a brand new coffee experience for you, and as a smaller business, we like to bend the rules of coffee whenever we can, so we welcome you to join us for this event where we can be creative, expressive, and have fun with everyone’s favorite beverage.

You will receive a personal indoor section at our cafe for your entire party. In order to provide this unique experience in a safe manner, we will be enforcing the following guidelines:

  1. A maximum party number of 6 people to prevent overcrowding.

  2. A maximum dining time of 120 minutes.

  3. All guests must show proof of vaccination, as required by New York City laws and regulations.

  4. While masks aren't required, we do strongly suggest guests exercise caution, as exposure to the coronavirus is still a risk.
